1. Purpose of Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes the rules for accessing and using the websites, applications, APIs, and related services operated by Oholingo at oholingo.com and associated domains (collectively, the “Service”). It applies to all visitors, registered users, subscribers, administrators, and integrations that interact with the Service.
This AUP supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this AUP and the Terms regarding acceptable use or enforcement, the Terms control unless explicitly stated otherwise. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
We may update this AUP to reflect legal requirements, product changes, or risk management practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
2. Acceptable Use Standards
When you use the Service, you agree to act lawfully, honestly, and respectfully. The Service is provided for personal and authorized organizational language learning, collaboration, and related educational activities, in line with your subscription tier and any permissions granted to you.
- Use accounts, licenses, and features only as permitted by your plan and role.
- Provide accurate registration and billing information, and keep credentials confidential.
- Respect other learners, instructors, moderators, and Oholingo staff and contractors.
- Follow documented technical and community norms, including published rate limits, API rules, and our Community Guidelines.
- Comply with export controls, sanctions, and other applicable laws when accessing the Service from your jurisdiction.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Service, or encourage or assist others to use the Service, to:
- Violate applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Infringe, misappropriate, or dilute intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Transmit unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or invasive content in violation of this AUP or the Terms.
- Upload or distribute malware, ransomware, worms, or other harmful or disruptive code or files.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without prior written authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or third-party data contained therein.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features, access controls, usage limits, or fee collection.
- Collect or process personal data about others without a lawful basis and, where required, appropriate notice and consent.
Additional categories of prohibited behavior are described in the sections that follow. They are illustrative rather than exhaustive; we may act on conduct that does not appear in a checklist but materially harms the Service, users, or the public.
4. Harassment and Abuse Prohibition
The Service must not be used to harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or threaten any person or group. This includes repeated unwanted contact, sexual harassment, coordinated attacks, sharing private information to harm someone (doxing), or attempting to humiliate, shame, or silence another participant.
Examples of prohibited behavior include:
- Targeted insults, slurs, or threats based on identity, disability, religion, nationality, or similar characteristics.
- Sharing or threatening to share intimate imagery without consent.
- Encouraging self-harm, violence, or dangerous activities toward individuals or groups.
- Creating multiple accounts or using third parties to evade enforcement or continue abusive conduct.
Where interactive features exist, use reporting tools and block controls in addition to contacting support if you believe someone is at risk of imminent harm.
5. Hate Speech and Illegal Content Rules
You may not post, transmit, or solicit content that unlawfully promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred against people or groups based on protected characteristics where such content is illegal. You may not use the Service to glorify or coordinate extremist violence, terrorism, or other criminal acts.
You may not upload, link to, sell, or distribute content that is illegal where you or the recipients are located, including without limitation:
- Child sexual abuse material, or content that sexualizes minors in any form.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery or voyeuristic content.
- Instructions for manufacturing weapons, illegal drugs, or committing crimes.
- Content that violates sanctions, export control, or national security laws.
We cooperate with law enforcement where legally required and may preserve and disclose information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
6. Spam, Fraud, and Misrepresentation Rules
You must not use the Service to send spam, phishing messages, deceptive promotions, or unsolicited bulk communications. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Impersonating Oholingo, another user, instructor, moderator, or entity.
- Using fake engagement (such as bots or click farms) to inflate metrics, reviews, rankings, or rewards.
- Hijacking sessions, redirecting users to malicious sites, or collecting credentials under false pretenses.
- Misrepresenting certifications, test scores, employer affiliations, or other credentials on profiles or public areas of the Service.
Commercial solicitation beyond what the product expressly enables (including “cold” outreach to strangers at scale through community features) may be restricted or subject to additional policies.
7. Intellectual Property Abuse Rules
Content you upload must comply with copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. Do not upload, subtitle, synchronize, or redistribute third-party lessons, books, broadcasts, or assessments unless you have secured the necessary rights or the use qualifies as fair dealing, fair use, or another statutory exception under the laws that apply to you.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Posting pirated software, e-books, exams, or answer keys.
- Using Oholingo trademarks or logos in a way that suggests endorsement where none exists.
- Scraping or mirroring large portions of our proprietary curriculum for redistribution or competing services.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact support with details sufficient for us to evaluate the report; we may request additional documentation under applicable notice-and-takedown procedures.
8. Security Abuse, Hacking, and Scraping Prohibition
You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, our networks, or underlying infrastructure. Prohibited conduct includes exploiting security vulnerabilities, performing denial of service attacks, credential stuffing, password spraying, or deploying keyloggers or sniffers against the Service or its users.
Automated or manual collection of data from the Service outside what we expressly permit—such as high-volume scraping, harvesting email addresses, or building derivative datasets from user-generated content—is prohibited unless we provide prior written authorization (for example, through a signed data agreement or documented public API terms).
You must promptly report suspected vulnerabilities to support and refrain from public disclosure until we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate.
9. Reverse Engineering Prohibition
Except to the limited extent expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding a contractual restriction, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, algorithms, models, or trade secrets from the Service, its software, or any related deliverables. You may not bypass or remove technical protections, license keys, or usage monitoring intended to enforce the Terms or this AUP.
Benchmarking or competitive testing using the Service must comply with the Terms, any confidentiality obligations, and applicable unfair competition laws.
10. Automation and Bot Restrictions
You may operate scripts, bots, or automated clients only when authorized by Oholingo in writing or through documented official APIs, webhooks, or integrations. Unauthorized automation includes scheduling tools that complete lessons, games, or assessments without human engagement, mass account creation, or tools that degrade performance for other users.
If we offer API keys or OAuth clients, you must comply with published scope limits, authentication requirements, and deprecation notices. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke keys that present abuse risk.
11. Account Sharing Restrictions
Accounts are personal to the registrant unless your subscription expressly permits teams, classrooms, or enterprise seats with named users. You must not share login credentials, bypass multi-factor authentication, or lease, sell, or transfer access to your account except as permitted in writing by Oholingo.
If we detect suspicious concurrent sessions, geographic anomalies, or patterns consistent with credential sharing farms, we may require re-authentication, reset passwords, or suspend access until the issue is resolved.
12. Content Upload Standards
Any content you upload—audio, video, images, text, attachments, or study materials—must comply with this AUP, the Terms, and our Community Guidelines. You are responsible for securing rights to your content and for ensuring it is lawful and appropriate for the audience you target.
Technical and safety expectations
- Do not upload files that contain malware, excessive tracking pixels, or hidden executables.
- Respect export and sanctions rules when sharing materials that could be sensitive.
- Label mature themes in community spaces if product features support content warnings.
- Do not use generated media to impersonate real people in a deceptive manner.
Oholingo may scan uploads for malware, policy compliance, and, where enabled, text or media classification to protect users. See the Privacy Policy for how processing occurs.
13. Community Conduct Rules
Where the Service includes forums, chats, leaderboards, study groups, comments, or profile pages, you must follow both this AUP and our Community Guidelines. Moderators and automated systems may remove content or restrict features to protect learners or maintain quality of service.
Constructive debate is welcome; personal attacks, off-topic disruptions, or brigading are not. Use official channels for product feedback and disputes rather than harassing individuals.
14. Enforcement and Moderation Rights
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations through technical and human review, including reviewing content, logs, and reports. We may remove or restrict access to content, issue warnings, apply feature limitations, require identity or age verification, or coordinate with payment processors and law enforcement where appropriate.
We are not obligated to monitor all activity or pre-screen content. Our enforcement may vary based on severity, intent, history, and business impact. Nothing in this AUP obligates us to take action against every report if we reasonably determine it is fraudulent, duplicative, or immaterial.
15. Suspension and Termination Rights
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, immediately or after notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated this AUP, the Terms, payment obligations, or applicable law. Depending on severity, we may offer a cure period; serious or repeat violations may result in immediate termination without refund to the extent permitted by law and your subscription terms.
On termination, your right to use the Service stops. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as limitations of liability, indemnities, governing law, and dispute resolution—remain in effect as set forth in the Terms.
16. Appeals Process (Placeholder)
If you receive an account suspension, content removal, or other enforcement action, you may appeal by contacting support with your account email, the approximate date of the action, and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We aim to acknowledge receipt within a reasonable period and review good-faith appeals consistent with operational capacity.
Placeholder: Internal appeal tiers, response times, and escalation paths will be finalized to match enterprise customer contracts, applicable consumer protection rules, and regulator guidance. Counsel should align this section with the company’s operational playbooks and regional requirements.
Appeals do not guarantee reinstatement. We may uphold a decision, modify it, or request additional information or verification. Frivolous or abusive appeals may be deprioritized or ignored.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may modify this AUP periodically. When we post changes, we will update the “Last updated” date. Where changes are material, we may also provide additional notice (for example, through the Service, email, or an in-product banner). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised AUP, except where applicable law requires a different consent mechanism.
If you do not agree to an update, you must stop using the Service and close your account in accordance with the Terms.
18. Contact Information

Official correspondence regarding legal notices may be directed to the postal or registered agent address on file for Oholingo, once published on the Service or corporate filings.
