Norwegian word order: verb second

In neutral main clauses the finite verb is second. After a leading adverb, the verb still claims position two.
Pattern
Today / speaks / I / Norwegian → I dag snakker jeg norsk.

- Translating English word-for-word.
- Placing adverbs randomly.
